Thanks, this was very helpful. Mom wanted me to replace the vacuum belt, but I don’t really know much about the Kirby design, since they never allowed me to toy around with it.

And now I do! So thank you.

@hallnoats4ever Care to share your opinion on which is the hardest in the industry if the Kirby is not? I have been doing this exact repair for 10 years, it’s not difficult for me to do, but if you don’t know what you’re doing, then the process that you have to do is not easy by any means.

  21. johnc2228 says:

  29. Cave9893 says:

    @CK2012

Wow 1,500 Bucks, thats alot of Money

  30. EZsystems says:

This is probably happening on NEUTRAL. if this is the case – you need to replace “Bracket Cam Assembly”. Google it or search GoodVac site for 557689 . We have manual on how to replace it.

  31. ariel5237 says:

When vacuuming I am hearing a clicking sound, when pulling the vacuum back toward me. Any suggestions?

  32. woodchuckfan17 says:

It uses whats called an “F” bag and around here at least its 6 for $26

  33. benho278 says:

It feels like the gear is acting like a break…. If you have the hose on and pull the kirby in the handle, it nearly raise on the back (large) -wheels….

Can I fix it by myself? Have been a salesman for the Kirby Legend, 20 years ago and have fix som legends?

  34. EZsystems says:

If it is hard to push on a carpet when vacuum is ON and nozzle down – it is normal. This is why they put the transmission in… If it is had when it is off, nozzle up, pedal in N and on the hard surface – something may be wrong.

  35. benho278 says:

Our Kirby is realy “heavy” to push with the gear in neutral………It feels like something “holding back” in the machine! Is that as it should be?

  36. chirodocheilman says:

The Sentria and the Diamond use the same brushroll. The reason the Diamond is better is it has a 2- speed switch. The Sentria does not. This advantage makes it more convenient to vacuum rugs that may not appreciate the intense airflow.

The Sentria also has more plastic in the handle that is more prone to breaking.

I also do not like the LED lighting system because when it needs replacing it is significantly more expensive than the traditional bulbs.
The Ult G model has the soft brushroll

  37. panaclean775 says:

@chirodocheilman Why is the diamond better? The Sentria has the newer stiffer brushroll right? Not that it makes it better.

  38. chirodocheilman says:

the diamond is better than a Sentria – I have a Sentria, a Diamond, and a Ultimate G. The Diamond is the best one
